The Harlequin Group specialises in the deployment of new technologies, such as telecoms and IT, across the UK and beyond.
Founded in 1993, the group was set up to offer outstanding multi-site acquisition services to the telecoms industry. Since then much has changed and new technology is continually evolving as product life cycles are becoming shorter.
Constant change and our commitment to continuous improvement has led us to develop and offer an increasing range of turnkey services, which are undertaken by our multi-disciplinary teams. In our experience professionally delivered and competitively priced services are no longer enough. Speed and innovation are now also essential.
The Harlequin Group has therefore trained and developed its experienced teams, contactors and consultants to be able to undertake and manage a broader range of services including site acquisition, town planning, surveying, estates management, structural & electrical design, CAD design, site build & integration and IT security services. This helps us to offer a seamless approach that is quicker and better able to meet the challenges we face today and in the future.
Our Divisions

Over the past 10 years we have seen the convergence of many technologies. We have therefore added IT skills and services to our multi-skilled teams. This allows us to offer a broader range of services, which often enables us to be more innovative and achieve testing targets. We also have an excellent reputation for delivering IT security services.
Our Ethos

The Harlequin Group offers dynamic, professional and fast infrastructure delivery services to a number of business sectors.
The thing that sets us apart from other companies is our people. We have always worked hard to carefully recruit first class staff who are incorporated into well managed and motivated teams.
In addition to our dedicated in-house teams, we have a network of experienced contractors and consultants who have worked alongside us for many years and can be deployed to broaden our skills base and deal with capacity issues.
Our current offices are in Chatham (Kent), Livingston (Scotland) and Longbridge (Birmingham). We also have satellite offices in Belfast and Manchester. These locations allow us to mobilise quickly and professionally throughout the UK.
Our multi-skilled teams are supported by our new project database, Primus. This allows our managers to have full control and security over our projects’ inputs and outputs. By ensuring things are measurable, we can better identify and manage any problems before they develop into bigger issues.
All this has helped the Harlequin Group deliver outstanding results since 1993.
Directors
David Summers BSc (Hons) MRICS
Managing Director
David is a Chartered Surveyor who founded The Harlequin Group in 1993 and has been instrumental in its growth. His work in the telecoms and property industries began in 1987 and previously he worked as a planning and development surveyor for Trafalgar House and Wimpey Construction Developments where he worked on a number of high profile property developments and refurbishments.
Bruce Moir
Group Director
Bruce joined the Harlequin Group in 2012 and is our main Board Director responsible for Design & Build. He now has over 20 years telecoms experience and previously held important roles with Telefonica (O2) and other Operators. He has also managed large scale commercial redevelopments ranging from the refurbishment of Listed Buildings to construction of Switching Centres.
Russell Frith BSc (Hons)
Group Director
Russell has a property degree from Reading University and joined The Harlequin Group in 1999. He opened our Scotland office in 2002 and has been instrumental in our expansion in Scotland, Northern England and Northern Ireland, as well as being heavily involved in winning many national contracts. He now manages work for many of our clients on a national basis.
